Dawn Gilman, CEO - Chief Executive Officer, ex 304
Ms.Gilman has been with Emergency Services and Homeless Coalition of Northeast Florida since 2007, and has served as CEO since 2009. Through her leadership, ESHC has grown from being a small, two person organization, to an agency that now employs 12 full time personnel. In addition to increased capacity, ESHC now brings approximately $7 million in Federal and State funding to the community. This funding provides housing, case management, prevention, and other supportive services to those in need in Clay, Duval, and Nassau Counties. Ms. Gilman is a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis with a degree in economics.
David Ojeda, CIO/CFO - Chief Information Officer/Chief Financial Officer, ex 303
David Ojeda been with ESHC since 2009. He has had 20 + years of corporate experience in Marketing, Sales, Systems, and Operational experience. He holds an A.A., B.S., M.B.A., and is currently working on his doctorate. His dissertation topic will be in Nonprofit Management.
Marti Johnson, Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) Program Director, ex 302
Marti Johnson has been with ESHC as a Program Manager since October 2012 and served ESHC as an Americorps VISTA from July 2011-May 2012. She has six years of experience in both direct service and non-profit administration, and also has international work experience. Ms. Johnson holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Belmont University in Nashville, Tn.
Jane McIntosh - SSVF Program Manager, ex 308
ESHC welcomed Jane to the team on September 30, 2013. Jane is a retired US Navy Senior Chief Legalman with over 21 years of military service. While in the Navy Reserves, she served with Explosive Ordnance Disposal units in Northern Iraq during 2006. She worked as an SSVF Case Manager for over a year and has worked with Returning Warrior Workshops in the Navy Reserve Southeast Region. Mrs. McIntosh holds her Master’s degree in Human Resource Development from Webster University.
Dexter L. Smith - SSVF Screening Specialist, ex 301
ESHC welcomed Dexter to the team on July 29, 2013. Dexter served in the United States Air Force from 1985 to 1991. He is retired from the Federal Bureau of Prisons System and has 20+ years in the social services and non-profit organizations field. Mr. Smith holds a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Sociology from Jacksonville University.
Lou Dougherty - SSVF Community Engagement Specialist, ex 310
ESHC welcomed Lou to the team in late August 2013. Lou is a retired US Navy Senior Chief Petty Officer with over 26 years of military service and has strong ties to the NE Florida community. He spent the last five years helping military families cope with the rigors of wartime deployments as the Florida National Guard Child, Youth and School Services Manager.
Bo Matiss - Director of COC Planning, ex 309
ESHC welcomed Bo to the team in November 2013. He has worked with the homeless population in Jacksonville for the last twelve years and served on a variety of committees dedicated to serving the needs of the homeless population. He is a Certified Prevention Professional with the Florida Certification Board and has managed and instituted housing programs with on of the area's largest Non Profit agencies. He holds a B.S. degree in Sociology and is also a retired USN Chief Petty Officer.
Lauren D'Amico - Coordinated Intake Director, ex 307
ESHC welcomed Lauren to the team on November 12, 2013. She has 10 years of experience in both direct service and non-profit administration. Ms. D’Amico holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Studies and Women’s Studies from West Chester University in West Chester, PA.
Jeanne Hayes - Rapid Rehousing Specialist, ex 306
Tammy Daniels - Bookkeeper
Tammy has spent over 22 years in financial institutions. Seven of those years with non-profit organizations prior to coming to ESHC. She has two Associate degrees through the American Institute of Banking and one in General Studies from FSCJ majoring in Science.
Tammy enjoys being at her desk and doing her job!
Phylicia Christian - Executive Assistant, ex 305
Phylicia started volunteering for ESHC as an AmeriCorps VISTA in August 2012, and was hired on as an ESHC staff member in August 2013. Phylicia has 6 months of
nonprofit experience, and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from
the University of Minnesota Duluth.
ESHC is pleased to partner with the National Coalition for the Homeless and the AmeriCorps VISTA program to provide this community with full time volunteers each year. VISTAs work throughout the nation to build capacity and provide support for the organizations they work for.
